Dustin is the Chief Engineering Officer of Thompson Engineering. Dustin first joined Thompson Engineering in 2012 as a Project Engineer and since then has become a team lead and officer within the organization. Dustin’s strategic vision and effective client relationship efforts have afforded Thompson Engineering challenging and diversified project opportunities. His expertise and experience cascades through our organization. He is a supportive and inspiring leader who guides and mentors our teams toward success by providing clear direction, feedback and opportunities for growth that allow them to achieve their full potential and drive success for the organization and our clients.

Dustin is an accomplished engineer and a strong team leader. He has an innate ability to understand the company vision and communicate that vision effectively to his teams in a manner that inspires and motivates them. Dustin’s technical expertise and innovative approach to problem solving has earned him a reputation as a leader in the field of mechanical engineering and specifically among the teams of engineers he leads. Dustin encourages his teams to develop plans and strategies in a collaborative, decisive and resilient manner. He supports his team’s professional development by providing opportunities for training, continued education, and various forms of skill-building techniques. Dustin invests in the growth and development of each team member and empowers them by delegating responsibilities, providing the necessary resources and autonomy to make decisions and take ownership of their work and their projects.

Dustin’s experience in the industry include a diverse range of projects across a broad spectrum of industries such as healthcare, hospitality, retail, industrial, process, technology, schools, residential, airport terminals and hangars, and more.

What is the greatest accomplishment of your life so far?

Personal: Graduating college, buying my first house and having my first child all in one year
Professional: My lineage with Thompson Engineering. Starting as an intern and helping it grow and succeed to where it is today

What is one of your favorite travel adventures from your past?

St. Lucia was my first trip away with my wife without our kids. It was one I’ll never forget.

How do you alleviate stress?

-Traveling, Shooting, Hiking, Biking, Working out

If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be and why?

Flight, so I could travel the world

What was your favorite project to work on at Thompson?

My first project I ever worked on was an airport terminal in Florida. I learned so much from working on that project alone and it helped me develop training and mentorship skills as a leader today.
