Honoring Their Legacy. Supporting Our Community.

About M\M Foundation

The M\M Foundation was created in 2024 from a place of unimaginable heartbreak—and an even deeper commitment to make a lasting difference.

In February 2023, Rick and Amber Saba lost their brother, Matt Saba, and just eight months later, their close friend and business partner, Dustin Linquist, lost his brother, Mike Linquist—both to the devastating impact of mental health struggles.

Both Matt and Mike were larger-than-life personalities; brothers, sons, friends, uncles, who filled every room they walked into with laughter, energy, and warmth. Yet they weren’t strangers to struggle. Those who knew them best were painfully aware of the internal battles they faced every day just to keep going. Their strength wasn’t in hiding their pain, but in showing up despite it. Their struggle was real, constant, and heartbreaking.

As their families grieved, they realized something devastating and undeniable: they were not alone. Too many families are living with similar heartbreak. Too many individuals are fighting silent battles. And too many men, especially, are taught to bury their struggles, to suffer in silence, to avoid asking for help, out of fear, pride, or shame.

Rick, Amber, and Dustin knew they couldn’t let Matt and Mike’s stories end in tragedy. They decided to create something that would honor their lives, carry their light forward, and work to prevent other families from facing the same kind of loss.

From this resolve, the M\M Foundation was born—named for Matt and Mike, and built on the belief that awareness, conversation, and community can save lives.
The M\M Foundation exists to challenge the stigma around mental health and to create a culture where men feel safe to speak up, seek support, and know they’re not alone. We believe that vulnerability is not weakness—it’s courage. And through this foundation, we are working to build a space where healing can begin, where stories can be shared, and where change is possible.

This isn’t just about honoring the memory of two incredible men—it’s about reaching those who are still with us and reminding them that their story is far from over.

Why Firearms and Clay Shooting?

At first glance, it may seem unconventional—but for us, it’s personal.
Both Matt and Mike shared a deep interest in firearms and the culture surrounding them. While Matt was an avid participant in clay shooting, range days, and hands-on firearm activities, Mike’s passion was expressed through a different lens. As a dedicated gamer, he immersed himself in tactical gameplay and firearm-related strategy. His interest was deep, and gaming became his way of engaging with that world.
While their paths never crossed, their passions reflected a shared appreciation for precision, intensity, and freedom of expression. Hosting clay shooting events is our way of honoring them both—authentically and respectfully. It’s a tribute rooted in who they were and what genuinely brought them joy.

It’s our way of saying: You’re not alone. You belong here. And we’re doing this in their spirit.

Our Mission

We exist to raise awareness, provide resources, and fund critical support for mental health and suicide prevention, especially for men who are often taught to suffer in silence. Our mission is to create a culture where speaking up is a sign of strength and connection replaces isolation.

Meet Matt:

Matt Saba was a dynamic, creative, and endlessly curious soul who brought energy and intensity to everything he touched. He was a builder, a thinker, a stargazer, and a lifelong learner. Whether he was skiing down a mountain, mixing music on his turntables, diving into the cosmos, or working with his hands, Matt pursued life with purpose and passion. If something captured his interest, he didn’t dabble—he dove in, determined to master it.

But Matt was more than just multi-talented, he was deeply compassionate. He was the first to offer help, the one who stayed late to fix what was broken, the guy you turned to for advice or a much-needed laugh. Matt had a rare gift for seeing the good in people—especially those who felt broken or overlooked. He welcomed them without judgment and had a way of lifting others back up, helping them see their own worth when they had forgotten it themselves. He had an incredible mind and a huge heart, and he used both generously.

He was known for his wild ideas and off-the-wall sense of humor—the kind of person who could turn an ordinary day into an unforgettable memory. Whether he was bringing the music, the laughter, or a spontaneous prank, Matt knew how to make life fun.

At his core, Matt was fiercely loyal to his family. He believed that family was sacred—an anchor in the storms of life and a place of unconditional love. His bond with those he loved, especially his grandmother, was something rare and beautiful. He embodied the belief that connection is what gives life its meaning.
Matt’s life reminds us that it’s not about how long we’re here, but how deeply we live. He lived with intensity, generosity, and creativity, and his legacy continues in the lives he touched, the memories he made, and the lessons he left behind.

We miss you every day, Matt. Your light, your laughter, and your heart will never be forgotten.

Meet Mike:

Mike Linquist was truly one of a kind; a bold, unapologetic, and fiercely passionate soul who lived life on his own terms. He was charismatic and wildly funny, the kind of person who could make you laugh until your stomach hurt, and he never shied away from speaking his mind or standing up for what he believed in. Mike was intense, extreme, and unforgettable. He didn’t live in the gray—he was all in, all the time.

Though his presence was larger than life, Mike often wrestled with a deep internal battle. He struggled to find his place in a world that didn’t always make space for those who defy convention. He gravitated toward outsiders and misfits, people who, like him, pushed back against expectations and didn’t conform. While he may have felt misunderstood, those who truly knew him saw past the tough exterior. Behind the tattoos and the bravado was a deeply intelligent, hard-working, and loyal man who excelled at anything he truly cared about.

Mike longed to be accepted and loved for exactly who he was. He craved freedom. Freedom to live, feel, and experience life without limitations. And in many ways, he did just that. He lived boldly, without hesitation, and with a fire that few could match.

Those closest to him remember his sharp wit, his outrageous humor, his love for gaming, his infamous nicknames, and the way he made ordinary moments unforgettable. His big personality wasn’t always easy to navigate, but it was his, and it was real.

Mike’s story reminds us how important it is to see beyond the surface, to meet people where they are, and to never assume that someone “strong” isn’t silently struggling. His life, his legacy, and his memory continue to fuel our mission to support mental health awareness and create space for those who feel like they don’t belong.

We miss you, Mike. You were one in a million. Cheers to The Mighty Mouse—may your mind finally be at peace.

Though Matt and Mike never met, we often reflect on how much they had in common, and we imagine the bond they might have shared. Both were bold, defiant, fiercely intelligent, complex men with big personalities and even bigger hearts. They both were also deeply misunderstood in their own ways. They each carried a strength that was matched only by their inner struggle. We believe they could have been great friends; challenging each other, laughing together, and maybe even helping each other carry the weight they often bore alone. We often imagine that if they’d crossed paths, they would have seen themselves in each other, and maybe, just maybe, found the connection and understanding they so deeply deserved. We’ll never know for certain, but it’s a heartbreaking reminder of why spaces for honest conversation and connection matter. If they’d had a place where they felt truly seen, where vulnerability was welcomed and support was constant, maybe their stories would have ended differently. The M\M Foundation exists to create that space for others like them: a place where being different is honored, and no one has to carry their pain alone.

How You Can Get Involved

Testimonials

Supporting M\M Foundation as a sponsor for last year’s event was an incredibly meaningful experience—both personally and professionally. This foundation, started by my sister and brother-in-law and their business partner in the wake of an unimaginable loss, is doing vital work to bring mental health awareness and suicide prevention to the forefront, especially for the men in our community who too often suffer in silence.
Being part of an event that not only honored lives lost but also created space for connection, healing, and hope was powerful. The conversations sparked, the stories shared, and the sense of community were deeply moving.
I’m proud to stand behind a cause that’s breaking down stigma and reminding people they’re not alone. This is the kind of work that truly changes lives, and it deserves all of our attention and support.

Volunteering at the M/M sporting clay event was a great experience for me. It was fun to be a part of the excitement associated with friendly competition but it was surprising to me to hear so many people connect about their difficult experiences with mental health, both personally and with loved ones.

It made me feel good to be a part of something that impacted so many people in a positive and deep way.

I’m proud to support the M/M foundation and the incredible work they do to raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. This cause is deeply important to me because I believe mental health should be talked about as openly and loudly as physical health, without stigma, without shame.

What I love most about the M/M foundation is that they don’t just talk about change, they take action. Every event brings people together to honor those we’ve lost, to support one another, and to raise funds for organizations that provide real help to those who need it most.
No one should ever feel alone in what they’re going through. There are people who care. There are resources available. And this foundation is helping make that message louder and stronger every day.

Growing up in the 70s and 80s mental health just wasn’t something we talked about. My generation was told to rub some dirt on it and walk it off. Growing up can be hard and confusing. If you add bullying to the mix, it can get scary. I remember wishing I had someone to talk to on more than one occasion. Now as a mom, I want better for my kids. I see them struggling with anxiety and other mental health issues and I want to help them. I want them to know it’s ok to not be ok. I want them to have the resources I didn’t have. Groups like the M/M Foundation are helping to build those resources. I was honored to be part of their charity clay shoot last year, and I am happy to continue to support their efforts.

I was honored to participate in the 2024 M/M foundation charity clay shoot, and I can confidently say it was an incredible event from start to finish. Not only was it a fun and engaging experience, but it also brought together a community of people who genuinely care about making a difference.
Supporting the M/M foundation is something that aligns deeply with our values at Clear Creek Mechanical . The work being done to support suicide prevention is truly inspiring. It was powerful to see firsthand the passion and commitment behind this mission, and to know that the funds raised will go directly toward creating real impact.
I’m grateful to have been a part of it and look forward to continuing our support in the future.

Sincerely,

Last year’s Sporting Clay Shooting tournament hosted by the M/M Foundation was a standout moment—surrounded by fresh air, great company, and a shared purpose. It wasn’t just about hitting targets; it was about connection, camaraderie, and raising awareness for the mental health challenges that too often go unseen, especially among men. We’re honored to support M|M Foundation and join this important movement again.
