Swire Coca-Cola is the exclusive bottler for the household product, Coca-Cola in Taiwan and seven other provinces in Mainland China. The company expanded it’s footprint to the United States in 1978 and continued to purchase surrounding franchised bottlers and distributors. The organization produces, sells and distributes Coca-Cola and 50 other brands in 13 states across the United States.

The 126,000 square foot distribution facility in Denver, Colorado required mechanical design for the building storage space as well as the addition of new dock doors to keep up with the delivery demand. This particular building serves as the distribution center for the Colorado market which called for particular attention to air changes as well as temperature control systems to combat the harsh winter weather.

This project presented interesting and unique challenges for our team to navigate. The equipment specification and placement for the facility could not impede the storage capacity of the warehouse in an effort to maximize the space available to store their product. We had to be creative and think critically when it came to selecting locations for the equipment. Additionally, the use of the dock doors being open for long durations while loading and unloading created lengthy exposures to the extreme temperatures in the summer and winter months, which required our specifications to take these instances into account while maintaining temperature. Our team approached this project with our clients needs coupled with a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the nature of their business and how our design specifications would assist the client in staying true to their vision of performing as a leading technology company that delivers refreshment, anytime anywhere.
