The Ramble Hotel in Denver’s trendy River North Art District (RiNo) has been voted 15 Best Hotels in Denver by Conde Nast Traveler, it’s been featured in Architectural Digest and Vogue, and listed as one of the top 60 hotels in the world by Fodor’s Travel. There is no shortage of accolades and awards for this iconic hotel, and the team at Thompson Engineering had the honor and privilege of providing the mechanical and plumbing services for this project.
The hotel is inspired by 17th-century French Salons which were known for their intellectual exchange, art and culture. Equally as important is the open and grand rooms that reflect symmetry, proportion, and classical principles of balance and harmony throughout. Our task was to design and implement the necessary mechanical and plumbing systems to seamlessly blend into the vibrant elements of the hotels atmosphere. It was particularly important to implement systems that are hidden, and quiet as to not disturb the natural ambiance.
If you’re a cocktail enthusiast, you may also know that the Ramble Hotel is home to the second outpost of the iconic New York City cocktail bar, Death & Co. This is a major attraction for guests and locals alike, and we understood that the Death & Co brand is renowned for it’s meticulous approach to cocktail making, and their bartenders are considered to be artisans who carefully craft each drink with attention to detail. We took this same meticulous approach when designing the atrium bar to ensure that the bar areas are functional, yet still complimented the charm and vibrance of the hotel.
Our team has tremendous appreciation for this project and we were truly inspired as we designed systems in the underground garage, full commercial kitchen, atrium, lobby bar, private bar, event spaces and the various designs for the 55 guest rooms. It was a true honor to be a part of this iconic hotel where we had the opportunity to blend tradition and innovation together.
